Yuki Hina [WIP]

HINA YUKI

Long light blue hair and turquoise colored eyes are the first things a person would notice when looking at Hina. She is a beautiful woman with a pale complexion and soft facial features. Her hair is often tied back with a red ribbon. Her eyes are big and round with an unknown mesmerizing effect to them. She was always proud of her looks, even as a human, and seldom wore any makeup. There are also no wrinkles nor freckles on her face, maintaining a youthful appearance. One of the most beautiful shinobi in Hyougagakure, she finds herself often stared at by men and other women alike.

Hina has a small black butterfly on the back of her neck. It's believed to be a birthmark. She also has a tattoo of a peach blossom on her lower back, near her right hip. Peach blossoms are her favorite flower and she had decided on her twentieth birthday to get the tattoo, against the objections of her family. When she does have to show her back (wear clothing or go to a hot spring), she covers her tattoo with a bandage. Her birth mark is never concealed though. She wants to one day get an entire peach blossom tree tattoo from her neck to her hip.


She is about average height, at 5'6", and weighs 110 pounds, slim but muscular. Her body mass is mostly muscle and she takes a lot of care in maintaining her physique. She doesn't agree with the norm that women should be frail and weak, training hard to build strength every chance she gets. Her legs are toned and firm, and her body has no excess fat. Although she is not a body builder, she believes that being fit helps increase her endurance in long battles. While she was a Jounin, she had trained vigorously in Taijutsu, building muscle strength.

When she was a regular shinobi, she wore a black yukata, with a red silk made of silk. The obi sash is longer than the traditional one so the bow she ties is a little bigger. Her favorite colours are red and purple, often seen interchanging the colors of her sash according to her mood. Although frowned upon by other shinobi in the village, she liked being unique and different from the rest. Her katana was also always tucked under her obi, carrying it with her everywhere. The uniform gave her a sense of pride and she made sure to iron it every night before going to bed.  When she became a the Jounin, not much of her attire changed except for the addition of the regular flak jacket. She also had a secret stash of medicine inside a locket that she wore around her neck, hidden underneath her yukata just in case her illness struck. She also wore a special zori, especially when on patrol or training as she didn't like the regular zori. It's made of the same material as the regular ones but the separation found between the big and second toes. She often found that the toe separation highly uncomfortable.

When she worked for the medical corps, her tied-back hair is often untied, flowing past her shoulders and down her back. She only ties it up when she is training or sparring. She likes her hair down, as it gives her a more feminine look. She wears a pair of long crystal earrings that help show off her neck and face. Hina wears no other accessories. This is due to the fact that she often is either healing or developing items to aid in healing that wearing extra jewelry would only be a nuisance for her. Now as a Kage, she wears prefers to wear a fur coat, with the symbol of the village etched on the back, she keeps the robe clean all the time. She is a firm believer that one's appearance is a direct representation of who they are. For that reason, she always hand washes her coat secretly, away from sight. Her standard uniform remains the same. In the summertime she prefers to wear long sleeves because of her fear of tanning although the ice village is often colder than the other villages. In the winter, she often wears layers of undergarments underneath her uniform, secretly a little afraid of the cold despite her kekkei gekkai. She also carries two bottles of medicine with her at all times; her own and a general medicine used for emergency healing.


Her regular attire is a simple silk black dress of various lengths. She has many versions of the same dress, all made of silk, to be worn on different occasions. She's not a person who spends too much time on fashion and hardly ever wears her regular attire. The only time she does is on special occasions. In the case of a wedding or other happy events where black is forbidden, she wears a red silk dress. Her only accessories are the locket for her potions and earrings. She does like to wear high heels though, always mindful of her height. Sometimes she is seen wearing a kimono, again made of silk, that is either dark purple or burgundy.

Hina moves with grace, quiet and lady-like. She doesn't like to draw attention to herself, with light and quiet steps. Usually her strides are more like glides and most of the time she would appear suddenly behind other people. Not really her intentions, she can scare people easily when doing this. She believes that although females shouldn't look fragile and weak, they should have some form of grace. She often finds that she has to notify them some way before she arrives at places to let people know of her arrival. She usually has at least two Kage guards around her when she goes out unless she is in the Kage Tower and in her office

Yuki Hina was born to two rather unloving parents, as the eldest of three sisters. Her father was from the infamous Yuki Clan, which granted her the kekkei gekkai access. But her father had wanted to have a son, as girls were frowned upon at the time. Having tried for years to conceive, her parents ended up birthing Hina and her two twin sisters. Her father had moved to divorce her mother after the birth of the twins, seeing it as her having failed her duty as a wife to give him a son. From a young age, the sisters would be under the care of their father, while their mother was not only evicted from the Yuki Clan compounds but also from the village. Originally their father had wanted for his wife to take the custody of the three children, having no need for daughters, but because the children had done no wrong, the clan elders had stopped this. So from the moment Hina was four years old, she would be without a mother and learn to live with a tyrant of a father.

Their father was in no way a nice man. He was a Hunter-nin and second in command of the Yuki Clan. He was ruthless and relentless, and had a major hatred for the head of the clan, thinking that he should have been made the clan leader instead. He took out all his frustrations on Hina, being the eldest daughter, often abusing her both physically and emotionally. He was also a bad drunk, escalating in abusing the poor girl. She was used to this, and used to having to walk on eggshells whenever her father was around. The girl would suffer in silence until she reached the age of twelve, when her life would be changed forever. The nightmare that she had been used to living in wake and in sleep would draw to a close, and she, along with her two sisters, would be liberated. It would be a day that she would never forget.

She remembered that fateful day, as though it was yesterday. She had just finished her academy studies, becoming a Genin and finally getting the village headband. The girl was very happy of her achievements and had wanted to show her father, thinking that he would praise her. But she was deadly wrong. The girl returned to her compounds only to find her father drinking copious amounts of alcohol, drowning his misery in drink yet again. He had failed a mission to capture one of the missing ninjas from the village and was not in a good mood. Seeing his daughter dance around happily at such a low achievement only angered him more. He threw her against a wall and beat her, with her sisters crying and begging for him to stop. This only made him turn his wrath to all of them, beating and kicking them relentlessly. Hina would try to use her body to block his attacks aimed at her sisters. She had wanted to protect them, and was not afraid to do anything she needed to, even risking her own life.

She would remember running to the kitchen, grabbing any sharp object she could find and returning to where her father was still kneeling, punching the other two girls. She recalled driving the knife in his back, pulling out the blade only to drive it in again and again until her hands and most of her clothes were covered in his blood. She had been unusually calm as it happened, feeling the knife connect countless times with the man, all the built up hatred for him exploding. Her mind blank, she only saw him as a threat to her and her sisters' survival and well-being. Hina would pass out afterwards, from exhaustion and the realization that she had possibly just killed somebody. Her next waking moment would be at the village hospital. She learned a little after that she had indeed killed her father but that because she had acted on self-defense, the girl was not going to be tried or punished. Although she escaped legal repercussions, the Yuki clan still saw her as a murderer, and she was shunned from the compounds.  

When she was released from the hospital, she was told by her clan elders that she had committed a terrible crime, regardless of the circumstances behind the action. She was evicted from her home, and was left to wander the streets, alone and terrified. The once luxury of having a family, regardless of how bad the family was, was taken away from her in an instant. To make matters worse, her twin sisters who she had risked her life to protect shunned her too, perhaps out of fear that they too would face similar consequences if they continued to interact with her.
